3 Steps to Running an Effective Deal on your Facebook fanpage

Posted on 17 February 2012 by FBiframes

Are you tired of hearing about Daily Deal Sites as the only way to find a stream of new customers?

Having done your research, you see most of these sites want you to cannibalize your bottom line in the name of new customers.  That is not the way to do business, unless you like giving away your product. This is not to say you shouldn’t offer great deals for your social community but dont give away the house, as they say.

Daily Deal Sites want to dictate to you, the business owner, how your deal should run. At FBiFrames we know it’s your business and you know your customers best.  In the next few paragraphs we’ll walk you through how to run an effective social offering on your Facebook Fanpage and at the same time how to save 30-60% compared to running it on a Daily Deal site like Groupon, Living Social, Yelp or one of the 1000′s of clone sites that are ready to provide you their platform for a Deal.

Have you been trying to grow your social community while at the same time wanting to see an ROI for your Likes, fans and followers?

Using FBiframes Deals App you have full control over building and publishing your deal on your company’s Facebook Fanpage.  You don’t have to worry about the Middleman charging you his costs and making you give a 50-80% discount to promote your business.

You are able to strategize and create a deal that works for you and your customers.

First, I am going to let you know that FBiframes has made a decision to put the business owner back in control of the deals they offer.  The problem with Daily Deal Sites is that they put the consumer first.

Second I will show you the 3 steps to running an effective deal on your Facebook fanpage and I will give you the opportunity to “cut out” the middleman cost of 30-60%, which are the costs that groupon, living social, yelp and the 1000’s of other daily deal clones charge.

FBiframes has developed a Facebook Deals App that allows you to build and publish your own deal on your business’ Facebook fanpage.

The following 3 steps will help you strategize and successfully run an effective FBiframes Deal for your social community.

  1. Watch the Price Point:
The profit margins of every business is different so make sure that you know what your costs are before you publish your deal.  Make sure that your deal is good enough for customers to think about purchasing but also that the deal value ensures that they must spend more money to complete the purchase once they are in the store or restaurant in the buying mode.If you own a surf shop and you are giving a deal on a surfboard make sure that the value of the deal and the surfboard they buy; will still ensure that the customer will have to buy accessories such as a leash and/or board bag so it softens the discount on the surfboard.
    Example of Deal:
$300 Voucher  for a cost of $175. Most likely the customer will have to buy a $35 gorilla grip  pad and a $200 FCS Board Bag.  The list of accessories could go on and on but you get the picture.
  2. Limit Your Deal:
You know your business best, what your costs are and what your average sale is.

    Restaurant A:
Just opened 2 months ago and wants to get their name out to a larger audience and for new customers to come in and try their food.  So they should look more at their deal as a loss leader, offer a higher discount, while also creating an excitement about their restaurant.. Keep the number of deals low, say 20-30 this will make people hungry to act fast, while also sharing it to their friends and family, making your deal more social/viral.  You should also be open to running several deals over a 3 month period to keep excitement going and creating more excitement and opportunities for engagement for your new brand

    Restaurant B:
Been open for 3 years and they want to offer a deal in hopes of creating new opportunities for gaining new customers.  Restaurant B does not need to offer such a drastic discount as Restaurant A and it can even use it as a way to give deals to its loyal customers,  while offering new customers a discounted reason for trying out a new restaurant.
  3. Spread the Word
So many small business need that extra push in spreading the word about their deal.  Be sure to engage your community and definitely engage your brand evangelists and let them know ahead of time about the deal you will be running.  Speak with other business owners that you have a reciprocal relationship with in your community to help spread the word about your upcoming deal.Be sure to post a way for visitors to get to your deal on your business’ website as well.  Place a poster or handout around the neighbordhood, as well.  You should also do blog postings coupled with small increments of Facebook Advertisements to drive new customers to your business’ deal.Remember a deal is not only a coupon on steriods but if used properly it will work as a marketing campaign too.

Are you thinking of running a Groupon style deal for your business.

Do the math and think it through… or just take out the middle man and run your own “Deal” on your Facebook fanpage using FBiframes’ Deals App.

Most Deal apps promise you new customers but you must offer drastic discounts, then you must take another cut and give that to the middleman for selling your ridiculously discounted deal.  Most Deal apps make their money by taking a cut of the amount it collects for the merchant: 30 to 60%. Plus, to feature a merchant offer, the merchant must discount its products or services by at least 50% off regular price. This can be a real attractive deal for people who want to save money, the potential customer, but not so much for the business offering the deal.

Why FBiframes Deals App for your facebook deals strategy…

With FBiframes Deals App you will take out the middleman by utilizing FBiframes Deal app to run your Facebook Deal on your businesses fanpage.

Our clients utilize the Deals app to grow their social media community while monetizing their Facebook fanpage at the same time.

You sell one deal you get the money for one deal sold.

The FBiframes Deals App also allows you the opportunity to control the length of time you offer the deal, the number of deals that can be sold and how much of a deal you want to give your community.

Remember you are in total control of your FBiframes Deal that you offer to your social community.

Should my business offer Deals and/or sweepstakes to engage social media community

Posted on 13 February 2012 by FBiframes

Deals or Sweepstakes which is better.

Shoppers looking for the best deals and most up-to-date savings and are turning to social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to guide their purchasing decisions.

For retailers, social media is a cost-effective and easy way to reach not only the consumer, but also the consumers’ entire network of friends and followers.

Retailers and brands can count on the fact that if a consumer buys their deals or enters their sweepstakes through a business’ Facebook fanpage, consumers will then share their interaction with their friends. As we all know we are more apt to buy or follow a company/brand because someone that we know or trust has endorsed them.  An endorsement, word of mouth referral, is by far the most powerful advertising a company can hope for.

The power of trusted recommendations is what has retailers and brands rushing to publish their promotions online to their social media communities.

So the question that you need to be asking yourself and your marketing department is why have you not run your first social media deal and/or sweepstakes.

Contests vs Sweepstakes

Contests vs Sweepstakes on Facebook Fan Pages

Posted on 12 February 2012 by FBiframes

70% of people will ‘Like’ a Facebook fan page because they want to be notified of special offers, contests and promotions. With that in mind, it’s not a bad idea to consider running contests and/or sweepstakes on your company’s Facebook fan page.

Contests / Sweepstakes offer a range of benefits: they give people a reason to connect with you, make your page more fun, and gain more exposure for your brand and site.

  • They also give you an opportunity to collect email addresses of those people who enter your contests / sweepstakes.
  • Entrants then can be entered into your company’s lead generation program.
  • Enabling your marketing team to nurture each new lead through your company’s sales funnel.

Who Can Benefit From a FBiframes Sweepstakes?

Different types of businesses can benefit from a Sweepstakes.

For example:

  • If you’re a consultant, you can offer a “Free Consulting Package” that people may not know you offer.
  • If you’re a coffee distributor , you could offer a “Coffee for 3 Months ” package to get your community thinking about getting coffee delivered to their home or office every week.
  • If you’re a web design company, you could give away a free website redesign to prompt others to use your services.

And when people enter your sweepstakes, you automatically generate a list of potential customers.

What Defines a Sweepstakes, & How Do You Set it Up?

Sweepstakes, in which the winner is chosen at random, are also common on Facebook. The barrier to entry for a sweepstakes is generally low, because people typically just have to enter their name and email address and ‘Like’ the Page. As no judging is involved, the winner is chosen at random. FBiframes Sweepstakes app will assist you in selecting a random winner.

What Defines Contests, & How Do You Set it Up?

In a true contest, some kind of vote determines the winner (or the winner could be judged by your community). There are different ways to set up Facebook contests using FBiframes. For instance, you could organize it around a picture, image or video. Participants could email pictures to an admin that get uploaded and then judged by your community. Canvaspop ran a photo contest on Facebook, and whoever attracted the most ‘Likes’ for their photo won a Free Canvaspop canvas.

When to Use Contests vs. Sweepstakes

Whether you decide to hold contests or a sweepstakes will depend on your goals. Typically, contests are better for engaging your current community, and sweepstakes are better for growing your community.

  • Contests: Will increase your community involvement by enabling users to vote. They may also drive more of the entrants’ friends to your page as users ask their friends to vote for them. But if the entry requirements are too involved, you may not get the turnout you had hoped for.
  • Sweepstakes: Are better for growing your Facebook community or email list. Entering the sweepstakes usually requires entrants to enter their name and email address and possibly ‘Liking’ the Page, which is very easy for most people to do. Thus, you will generate more entries, but you may also sacrifice an element of engagement, since people won’t have an incentive to share it with their friends.Screenshot of New Epic Media http://www.facebook.com/#!/Newepicmedia?sk=app_128943657177835

Build Custom Facebook fanpages By Yourself

Build Custom Facebook fanpages By Yourself

Posted on 07 February 2012 by FBiframes

How do I Build a Custom Facebook fanpages…

People often get confused and overwhelmed when it comes to the world of coding and integration with the web. Well, here at FBiframes we take all of our customers into consideration, from the coding genius & web designers to the novice website user.

FBiframes allows users to build customized Facebook fanpages.

All of our apps help people accomplish specific tasks and goals, but one of our most universal apps is our Visual/HTML Editor to build custom Facebook fanpages. For all you non-webbies out there – HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language – and it is the code that is used for the creation of web pages. You can even think of it as a language much like English or Spanish in a sense. HTML is the building structure of a website, and it tells your browser what to display, where to display it, and how to display it.

Our Visual/HTML Editor app allows you to either write your own HTML if you’re familiar with it, or build your custom facebook fanpages based on what you see (you just put things where you want them, and it will build the HTML for you).

Everyday User
(Non Experienced coder)
When you first open the app edit page you are greeted with an interface that should be somewhat familiar. It’s like many text editors / office suites out there, like Wordpad, Microsoft Word and so on. You can do many of the same things, like change the style, color, and size of text, add images, position everything how you’d like it, etc. This makes creating custom facebook fanpages with this app a snap. No complex coding needed – just type, upload, and go!

Coding Expert
I know what you are thinking – “I need more than just the front end, visual will not do it for me. I need to get my hands on the code and get the image just one pixel to the left.” (We designers have all been there.) Just hit the HTML tab and BOOM – you have it the world is your oyster! We’ve all had some mental hiccups when coding so we got you covered there as well. At the top of our editor we provide you with some coding helpers just for when you run out of Mountain Dew.

Everyone hates going out and having to look up how to do some of the most popular things out on the web like embedding slideshows, Google maps and more. Good news! We’ve done all the work for you! When you are under the Visual tab just click on the plugin you’d like to use and in a matter of clicks you could have a map telling your customer how to get to you via Google maps!

As you can see this is a very robust app that we have packed a ton of features into, and we’re always working on adding more!
