Facebook fan pages and marketing your carpet cleaning business

So now that you have opened your carpet cleaning business, now you need to get your name out to the masses.  You just like many other business owners are all looking for ways to be creative and innovative in your marketing.  Marketing for your carpet cleaning business in various channels can have a significant impact on the number of leads that your business gets.
 
Social media marketing is just an extension of your “in person” and off-line marketing and most instances delivers a better return on your marketing investment due to its continuous interaction and relationship building.
 
For those of you who don’t know, Facebook is the largest social networking website; it currently has over 900 million users.  What does this mean to you when you are planning your carpet cleaning marketing?
 
It is a great way to get the word out about your business, connect with your customers, and keep them up to date about your business. 
 
You need to Create a basic Facebook timeline fan page;
  • fill it with some pictures of your company, your vehicles, your office, your employees, even your mascot.
  • Then add some content and information about your business.
  • Craft facebook posts to better engage your fans
  • Continuously sharing photos and videos of your jobs (before & after)

“How can I get more likes?”

I’m not a big fan of trying to see how many “likes” you can get on your businesses Facebook page, I prefer business owners to be more focused on utilizing Facebook to drive relationships, engagement, and activity back to your actual brand.

Now you can entice visitors to become fans by offering them something in return. Perhaps do a contest where you pull one or two winners or you could also offer everyone who enters a coupon for a certain amount or a percentage off your services.  They have to “like” your page to enter, so now when you send out information; it becomes part of their daily news feed.

All of their friends will also see it, and that can only help with your success.

Two ways to create “likes” is to offer a “fan only” coupon or sweepstakes/giveaway.

Lead Generation for Direct Marketing

Many people are familiar with post cards and flyers when marketing carpet cleaning. Being able to delivering your message directly to your customer’s hands can be extremely efficient.  Research shows that direct marketing campaigns can see about a 5% return on investment. Of course, nowadays there a few choices as to where that “mail” can be sent.

Utilizing Facebook as a lead generation component can be very inexpensive and also help you ensure that you are spending marketing dollars on qualified leads.  Developing a solid and targeted mailing list, and delivering to them a compelling and nicely designed coupon will help gain your potential client’s attention.

Your job is to continue to fuel the fire by giving your customers good returns for referring your business and continue to reward loyal customers, especially when they bring you new customers.  Send coupons out to your customer base on a regular schedule. Your customers will help you by forwarding your coupons to their contacts while also helping your build your customer base.

Tips for crafting Facebook Posts

Facebook wall posts can generate buzz about your brand, offer insight about your customers and drive traffic to your website. That’s what you can get from a simple Facebook post!

But as most people know that have been crafting Facebook wall posts for any length of time, it’s just not that simple.

The right content and using it to create conversations on your Facebook Page is tough.  Below are a few tips for generating effective wall posts that will create more engagement for your brand.

1. Size does matter

Facebook Wall posts that are short and sweet is the way to go. In fact, posts containing 80 characters or less have 27 percent higher engagement rates. So, as with other copywriting, users are more likely to consume your content when it’s concise.

2. Are URL shorteners the answer

Sure, they save space, but engagement rates are three times higher when posts contain a full-length URL instead of a shortened one. When people can’t figure out where that link will lead them, they may be less likely to click.

Don’t you look for indicators in a URL to see what type of website it will lead to?

3. Know your brand’s best time of day 

Each brand has its optimal time that their community interacts with their brand or when they are cruising Facebook.  Be sure your posts are reaching them when they are looking for your content. Utilizing Insights will ensure that your posts are delivered when people will see them in their News Feeds.

4. What is your best days to publish your posts

Depending on your industry, there are certain days that are better for posting on Facebook. Research suggests the following industries post more on weekends:  Entertainment, Media, Retail, Automotive, and Sports.

However, the Fashion, Travel and Hospitality, and Healthcare and Beauty industries should consider posting more on Thursday.

For the Food and Beverage industry, engagement is higher midweek and Saturday.

For the Business and Finance industry, midweek is the best time for engagement.

5. Ask for engagement

Just like when writing website copy, Facebook posts should have a strong call-to-action that motivates your community to take the next step. Ask your community for their opinion, to share and definitey get them to engage by liking your post.
