When you are creating a post for your status that includes a call to action, you will want to consider the following tips to ensure that you have the best post possible.

Tip #1 – Engage Your Readers

First, you are going to want to engage those who are following your posts, and you can do this by asking them a question. By asking a question, it is going to get more people to think and more people to respond to your post. Many may even share your post with the people who are their friends on FB. The question can be fun, serious or anything in between. It just has to get people to respond.

Tip #2 – Information

Give information in your posts as well, even in the posts where you might be asking a question. Info relating to the question is always good. Try to keep the tone of the question and your information the same, though. If you have a serious question, you will want your information to retain that serious tone rather than try to be lighthearted and overly entertaining.

Tip #3 – Links and Images

Of course, your call to action that you have in your post should head into a link. You want to provide a link that your readers are going to be able to follow. Some posts might not require a link such as simple, basic posts that do not have a call to action. If your post does have a CTA though, it had better include a link. Otherwise, there really isn’t much of a point! If you can, provide an image as well. This is visually stimulating and can make your posts more interesting.

Tip #4 – Be Positive

You want to make sure that you try to keep your posts positive. This might not always be easy, but it is something that you should endeavor to do. Because of all of the negativity on the web, finding a company that is able to post positive messages much of the time is refreshing for people.

Here is one quick tip that I give to those clients, and it literally takes you 5 minutes to put into action.

Google Alerts

And how they save you time

  1. Go to http://www.google.com/alerts
  2. Create an alert or many alerts for “subjects” that you feel are close to your fan demographics or that might create  conversation on your Facebook fan page (it can be totally off the subject from your brand).
  3. Choose the frequency that you want the alerts to be forwarded to your email account.
  4. Voila!!! Yes it is that easy!

 

Now the Fun Part – Picking out the engaging content…

Remember cool videos that you can share or use a link to a story that will create conversation.

You do not want to sell on your Facebook Timeline Wall!!!!!
