Five Other Social Media Sites to Boost Business

Posted on 27 May 2013 by FBiframes

When it comes to the social media world, there are tons of options out there beyond Facebook and Twitter. Those two kings of social media are home to the most activity, but millions of people are also using other social media sites that can be helpful for businesses. Here are five that businesses will want to take a look at.

1. Instagram

Instagram is one of the newest social media offerings on the Internet, and users connect with each other by taking and sharing interesting photographs. Businesses can tap into the Instagram community by creating their own interesting images. Companies can take photos of promotional material (even as simple as capturing the store’s sign at an interesting angle) or photographing products.

2. Pinterest

Pinterest came onto the public’s radar in 2012 and has become one of the fastest-growing social media sites, unique for its visual emphasis and unique content-sharing format. The site is driven by interesting graphics, so companies will need to create appropriate content (such as by photographing products in a unique way or designing promotional graphics). The site is also driven by pinboards related to different topics, so companies can gain followers by cultivating interesting collections of content on the sight.

3. LinkedIn

LinkedIn is quietly a very effective social media site for improving business. The site connects professionals and businesses, allowing companies to reach customers, business partners, and potential employees. This site has developed significantly over the past few years and now features a diverse set of tools for posting content and interacting with other businesses and people.

4. Upcoming

Upcoming.org is a unique social media site that allows individuals and businesses to schedule and share events. The site is searchable and users can connect with each other on the event pages, making the site an interesting option for businesses that want to reach a greater audience for their upcoming events.

5. Digg

Digg.com is one of several content-sharing networks around the net, and it allows the community of readers to recommend content or shoo potential readers away. You can utilize Digg (and the other similar sites) in a number of ways. First, you can promote your site’s content on Digg, although the content will have to be very strong in order to benefit from participating in this way. Alternatively, you can use Digg to find new content to share with your social media followers, improving the overall quality of your feed.

Updating Your Facebook News Feed

Posted on 21 December 2012 by FBiframes

Sometimes you forget when having writer’s block that you can really write about things in normal day life or even taking an interesting and important piece of information from a discussion with a client.

This is my eternal gratitude to “The Client”!!!

So today, in conversation, “the client” mentioned, they wished they would not have to read everyone’s political views in their Facebook news feed and the conversations that followed during this last Presidential campaigning period.  ”The client” explicitly talked about how it had gotten so bad, that they wanted to unfriend one person, but it was hard because it was his boss.

Uh oh, quite the dilemma!!!

This brought up a couple of questions and one remedy that everyone should follow when they are faced with this dilemma.

So first, I will cover the remedy to save you from this kind of situation that Facebook actually allows you to cure as you being able to manage your own profile.

On the top of the page of the person (your boss) that you have friended in the past, click on the Friends button.

In the drop down you will see at the top of the drop down box:

  • Get Notifications
  • Show in News Feed

Uncheck both Now you want to make sure that both are unchecked.  Once you have done that you will not see any posts, links or shares from that person anymore.

However, those of you —- where absence makes the heart grow fonder, so say in 3 months you can actually go back to the Friend button on that person’s profile and place a check mark next to both of them, and low and behold you will be able to grudgingly see their ridiculous posts again in your Facebook new feed!!

Hopefully this helps you from seeing those retarded posts from your boss, without him knowing that you don’t appreciate his politics!!!!

I always thought that you dont discuss politics at a bar, or even on Facebook the new bar stool!!  What are your thoughts, Let us know if you have some other do’s and dont’s on your social media interactions…

Still have questions?? Check out our Facebook Page, our blog, or  contact us and we will respond quickly..

7 Tips on Using Facebook Promoted Posts

Posted on 23 October 2012 by FBiframes

Are You Looking to use Facebook Promoted Posts?

Companies that use Facebook know that it can be a great way to get word out about their business and services, and they have quite a few tools at their disposal. One of the options that some companies are choosing to use is Facebook Promoted Posts. These paid for posts will show up more in your fans’ news feeds. Here are some tips and information that you will need to know if you are going to consider using Facebook Promoted Posts in your advertising endeavors.

Tip #1 – Increase Your Page Likes First

If you want to be able to use these Promoted Posts, then you need to make sure that you have a company page that has at least 400 likes on it. This can be a difficult number to reach for some small businesses. Once you have enough likes on your page, you will be able to try out the service.

Tip #2 – Watch Your Performance

Your results are not going to be nebulous. You will be able to see how the advertisement is performing while you are running the advertisement. This will give you some insight that you can use to determine whether this type of ad campaign was worthwhile for you or not. You will even be able to find more stats in your Ad Reports area.

Tip #3 – Boost Engagement with Fans and Followers

When you have a great post that includes links and a call to action, you could find that you are able to increase the engagement with your audience. With the Promoted Posts, you can at least be sure that more people are seeing your information.

Tip #4 – Stop the Campaign or Change the Budget

Editing your campaign and even stopping it are possible, and quite simple to do. You may want to do this if there is a problem with your campaign that you need to fix before you can continue. You will even be able to increase or decrease your budget.

Tip #5 – Promote Facebook Offers

If you have any discounts or free items that you want to offer, then you might want to use these types of posts to promote them. Because people like free things, and because you can reach more of your fans with these posts, you will find that you can often get a better response.

Tip #6 – Mobile Help

Many people use mobile phones to check and post to FB. Regular ads are not visible on the mobile phones, but your Promoted Posts will be. Using them ensures that you are reaching your mobile fans.

Tip #7 – Test Styles of Posts

You might want to do a test with one sales focused post and another fun post to see which one gets more traction. This will help guide you in your future campaigns.

Keys to Optimizing Facebook Engagement

Posted on 19 October 2012 by FBiframes

We are always looking for ways to optimize our Facebook engagement,  the following are a few keys to Optimizing your Facebook Engagement.

When you are looking for ways to increase your followers’ engagement with your posts on Facebook, you can adhere to some of the tips that follow. They should help you manage your posts and write them more effectively, so that you can have better and stronger interactions with followers on the site.

Brevity Helps in Many Cases

Often, when you are able to get your message across with fewer words it is better. You do not want to leave out any important information or questions from your posts. However, you should strive to keep the wordage to a minimum. For the most part, keeping your posts smaller and compact can help.

Make Use of Multimedia in the Posts

In addition to written posts, you should consider some of the other ways that you can add a little something special that could engage your viewers more. Consider adding more photos or videos. Having multimedia in your posts can help you to keep your words down in the posts, and it can provide something else that is interesting for your followers. You will find that it is often easier to get people to engage on your site when you have a video or a photo.

Put in a Call to Action

When you really want to engage your followers, let them know! Putting in a call to action is a great way to get responses to your posts and to truly engage your followers on Facebook.

Consider the Times You Post

One of the things that businesses do not always consider is the time of day they post. If they are posting throughout the day, when most people are at work, there might not be quite as much interaction on the site. Consider posting in the evening hours when more people are at home and relaxing. They are going to be more willing and able to engage with your content at that time.

Interaction Goes Both Ways

You can help your followers engage with your content and will often they can start conversations with one another on your posts. However, you should make sure that you take some time to engage with your followers. If you do not, then they might not be quite as willing to post or comment.

These are a few of the best ways that you will be able to engage with your Facebook followers. You will find that the tips can be quite effective, so start using them today!

How Social Media can help your SEO and Back-linking

Posted on 16 October 2012 by FBiframes

Can Social Media Help My SEO and back-linking??

The social networking sites are one of the best ways to start to build natural backlinks for your website for quite a few reasons. First, these sites are quite popular, and they hold quite a bit of sway when it comes to search engines. Google and other search engine sites even acknowledge this fact. They track links on Facebook as well as Twitter, at least when those are publicly shared links. Since they track these, it means that they are going to count for quality backlinks that go to your site. When you post information and link back to your site, it can help to boost your ranking. When others post to your website from a social network, it can have the same effect.

Here are some tips that you might want to use when you are trying to improve your SEO.

Begin building stronger and larger networks on your social media networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. When you have more connections on those sites, it means that you are going to have more opportunities for shares. In part, this is a numbers game. If you have three thousand people following you on Twitter, then you have a greater chance of more of those people re-tweeting your information. Of course, you also have to consider the quality of the followers. Having three hundred dedicated followers might actually be better than three thousand who don’t care.

Another good idea is to link your accounts with your blog. You can find some great tools that will let you connect your sites easily. You will be able to have your FB and Twitter accounts linked to your blog so that, whenever you post to your site, it notifies your pages on social media, eliminating the need for you to do it manually. This can help you save time. Of course, you will want to hit up your social media sites and interact with people who comment on your post or re-tweet your post. In the same vein, you can use tools that will repeat posts on your social networking sites for you when scheduled. For example, if you have followers who are in another part of the world, posting the same information twice, taking into account the different time zones, can be helpful.

Social media is increasingly important, and your business needs to know how to use it effectively if you want to succeed.

How to Grow and Manage an Online Community that Stays Engaged

Posted on 12 October 2012 by FBiframes

How to Grow and Manage an Online Community that Stays Engaged

When one manages an online community, he or she is going to have quite a few responsibilities. It is not as simple as posting on the social media sites with updates. In fact, for those who want to be successful, it is important to consider the many different aspects that the job can cover. Beyond just posting, the community manager needs to be able to develop content, respond to comments, create blogs, mediate issues that might arise, and try to increase the community of users. Keeping those users engaged can be quite troublesome.

Search for New Members

When you want to grow your number of followers in your online community, whether it is on FB, Twitter, or your own site’s forum, sometimes you need to look for them. The content you have on your site, and the content that you post on the social networks can bring more followers to you sometimes. However, you might find that it’s not enough. When you are searching for more members to join your community, remember that the quality of the followers is more important than the quantity. Look for followers who have actual interest in what you have to offer.

Be Ready to Interact with All of Your Followers

Remember that your community is likely scattered to all corners of your web presence. You might have some followers on Facebook, some on Twitter, some who follow your blog, and others who follow you in other ways. Make sure that you are able to get your content out to all of your members.

Offer quality content, be friendly with the members of the community, and respond to questions. Ask questions of your own, as well. You can use links, but you have to remember that, when you post nothing but links back to your site or product, people are going to see it as spam.

Be Ready for the Negative

While you might not want to believe it, there are going to be some people out there who have negative things to say about your company and brand. You have to be able to deal with these individuals professionally. Consider the negative comments they make, and only respond if necessary. Negative people are out there, and while they are no fun, they are going to be a part of social networking. Learn to deal with them like a professional, and it will not disrupt the others in your community.

Quick Tips for Writing a Facebook Post and the Perfect Call to Action

Posted on 09 October 2012 by FBiframes

4 Quick Tips for Writing a Facebook Post and the Perfect Call to Action

As a business using Facebook, it is important to have the right structure and rhythm for posts, and to have a call to action that really inspires people to follow through and click on your link, or take any other action that you need. Of course, perfecting the art of the post on Facebook can take some time. When you are creating a post for your status that includes a call to action, you will want to consider the following tips to ensure that you have the best post possible.

Tip #1 – Engage Your Readers

First, you are going to want to engage those who are following your posts, and you can do this by asking them a question. By asking a question, it is going to get more people to think and more people to respond to your post. Many may even share your post with the people who are their friends on FB. The question can be fun, serious or anything in between. It just has to get people to respond.

Tip #2 – Information

Give information in your posts as well, even in the posts where you might be asking a question. Info relating to the question is always good. Try to keep the tone of the question and your information the same, though. If you have a serious question, you will want your information to retain that serious tone rather than try to be lighthearted and overly entertaining.

Tip #3 – Links and Images

Of course, your call to action that you have in your post should head into a link. You want to provide a link that your readers are going to be able to follow. Some posts might not require a link such as simple, basic posts that do not have a call to action. If your post does have a CTA though, it had better include a link. Otherwise, there really isn’t much of a point! If you can, provide an image as well. This is visually stimulating and can make your posts more interesting.

Tip #4 – Be Positive

You want to make sure that you try to keep your posts positive. This might not always be easy, but it is something that you should endeavor to do. Because of all of the negativity on the web, finding a company that is able to post positive messages much of the time is refreshing for people.

How to create Fun and Engaging Facebook Content

Posted on 04 October 2012 by FBiframes

Many people keep asking me “How do I create fun, engaging, content for my Facebook fans?”

Here is one quick tip that I give to those clients, and it literally takes you 5 minutes to put into action.

Google Alerts

And how they save you time

  1. Go to http://www.google.com/alerts
  2. Create an alert or many alerts for “subjects” that you feel are close to your fan demographics or that might create  conversation on your Facebook fan page (it can be totally off the subject from your brand).
  3. Choose the frequency that you want the alerts to be forwarded to your email account.
  4. Voila!!! Yes it is that easy!

Now the Fun Part – Picking out the engaging content…

Remember cool videos that you can share or use a link to a story that will create conversation.

You do not want to sell on your Facebook Timeline Wall!!!!!

FYI…  Google Alerts is not only for a Facebook post the knowledge or opinion that you can form from your preset google alert could also turn into a blog post.  A blog post will create even more love for your brand in the SEO world coupled with sharing your personal blog on your Facebook fan page wall will also give you new backlinks to drive up your importance in search engines.

So from you spending the next 5 minutes on setting up a Google Alert, you just created the possibility for fresh new engaging content for your social community and also are sharing the SEO love for your website when you are moved to write a blog.

Below will show you how a Google Alert can create multiple conversation points:

1. Google Alerts >>>>>>Facebook Post >>>>>>>Facebook Fans Share and Potential Fans See

2.  Google Alerts >>>>Website Blog Post >>>> Admin Shares to Facebook Wall >>>>Fans Share to Personal Profile Page >>>>>Their Friends See Your Post Through Your Fans Share

Now imagine if you tweeted or even pinned to your Pinterest Page, you get the picture?????

How to Create a Social Media Strategy for My Business

Posted on 01 October 2012 by FBiframes

How to Create a Social Media Strategy for My Business

Social media is vitally important for any business that wants to succeed today, but one has to make sure that he or she develops a proper, feasible, and logical approach to social media. Here are some steps that you must take if you want to create a social media strategy that is really going to work to your advantage.

First, know what you are trying to get out of the social media sites. Have some goals that you can measure. Set up these goals before you get too deep into the social networking site. One example of a goal for your social media sites would be to get 400 likes on your Facebook fan page. When you hit 400 likes, you will be able to use their Promoted Posts feature. You can have smaller milestones on your way to the goal as well. Set up several different goals that you want to reach, and then you will have something to work toward which can help you focus.

Second, you are going to need someone who is going to be able to devote time to your social media pages. If you have a large company, and you need to have someone tracking your pages all the time, then you will need to hire at least one fulltime person for the job. In some cases, a company might have an entire team devoted to helping with the different online aspects. If you have a small business and a small number of followers, then you might be able to do it on your own. In addition to posting and interacting, they will also be able to monitor your brand.

Third, you will want to make sure that you are engaging your fans and followers with your posts. This means that you need to have quality facebook posts with quality information and links. Otherwise, your company is simply going to disappear into their feeds.

Finally, you need to make sure that you are working with the right social networks. You should focus on the popular sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. You should also consider Google+ and LinkedIn. It is important to make sure that you are where your audience is if you want to succeed in social media.

These are some simple tips for developing your strategy for social media. When you put time into developing a plan, you will find that social media really can pay off for you.

The Secret Sauce

How Your Small Businesses Can Make the Most Out of Social Media Marketing

Posted on 28 September 2012 by FBiframes

Can Your Small Business Utilize Social Media Marketing?

Many small businesses are taking steps to grow their operations, and one of the ways that they can do that is through the use of social media. You will find quite a few different ways to use social media, and when you approach it correctly, it’s possible to use the various social networks to help grow your customer base and to engage with them. You will find that you have quite a few options when it comes to social media today, so it is important that you are working with only the outlets that are going to be right for your company. If you try to overextend yourself with social media, you will find that you just can’t give enough attention to each of the sites, and it could backfire on you.

Businesses Get to Know Their Fans and Followers

One of the best things about social media is that it can connect the world. Your fans in your local area and around the world will be able to connect with you on the social media sites. This is going to give you the opportunity to learn more about what they want and expect from your company, as well as to learn the things that they like about your company already. When you have interesting and engaging material on your site, you will find that they are going to share that information with their own network. This means that you could have more fans coming into the fold.

Of course, this means that you should be providing quality information and useful information to your followers. If the only thing that you talk about and post about is your own company, you may find that you lose fans. Engage the fans, ask questions, and provide them with things that are useful and fun in your posts. It really is that simple.

New Ways of Advertising and Promoting

While you do not want to make all – or even many – of your posts self-promotional, the sites are a great way to do a bit of advertising on occasion. Even better, with sites such as Facebook, you will be able to use their Promoted Posts and even FB ads to reach more people. Advertising can be helpful, but you might find that simply engaging with the fans you have is enough to boost your number of followers and to grow your business. You will also find that the social media sites are a great way to integrate your brand to the social networking world without spending a fortune.

Let Us Know How You Have Utilized Social Media Marketing to grow your client base…
