How to Create Engaging Facebook Posts

Posted on Dec 28, 2012 by Toby Gonzales

Many businesses find it hard to create engaging Facebook posts for their Facebook community .  One technique that we find useful is asking questions.  Questions are a great way to increase engagement on Facebook.

If you don’t offer thought provoking opportunities  to engage with your fans on facebook, it makes it easier for readers to just skim, read, and move on without responding to your posts.

But when you include a question in your post, it is more likely for users to pause and think before moving on. It will also greatly increase the likelihood of your fans sharing their thoughts and then their friends clicking the like button.

Here is a list of “question types” that could help you when trying to create a more engaging Facebook post strategy.

Direct When you stay on the Outer Banks, would you prefer a hotel or a rental home?
Edgy What do you think of Instagram’s new Terms of Service in regards to your photos?
Events Who is going to the Duck Jazz Festival?
Experience What is your favorite OBX Restaurant?
Fun If you could be “CEO for the day” of any company, what would it be?
Humanistic Have you ever sat next to anyone famous on an airplane, subway, etc?
Mad Lib If I could interview (name who you would interview), I would not sleep for three days.
Photo Where is this photo taken?
Preference Do you like staying in Corolla or Kill Devil Hills, when you are vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina?
Specific What is your favorite FBiframes app?
Timely Today is Valentine’s Day, Who is your valentine?

True or False True or False:  Did the Wright Brothers first fly in Kitty Hawk?
