We have been getting questions asking “how do we upgrade our new Timeline app icons?” and would like to take the opportunity to explain how to do so.
A lot of newly upgraded Facebook Timelines still have not utilized the important app icons that you now have the opportunity to customize.
Customize your Timeline App Icon:
Step 1: Click on the down arrow that appears to the right of all the thumbnail icons. This will reveal all your timeline tabs, which are now called applications. This will also expose an edit pencil when you mouse over over any of the thumbnails except for the one designating photos.
Step 2: Move your mouse over to the upper right-hand corner, click on the pencil icon, and select “Edit Settings.”

Step 3: Click on “Change” beside “Custom Tab Image.”
Step 4: When a new window opens, click on “Change” beside the current tab image.
Step 5: Upload a 111 pixel by 74 pixel image (maximum file size: 5MB). You can create your own, or, on the page that you edit the app’s settings on FBiframes.com, we offer a few pre-made icons for most of our apps.

Step 6: Close the window, click “Okay” and you’ll see your Facebook timeline tab image updated.
Repeat the above steps to all of your Facebook timeline tab images.
Changing the Title of the Tab
On the same “Edit Settings” window you may also change the title of the tab (the text that shows below the image):

Hi - thanks for the tut. Just one question - why is it only 4 app tabs are visible for friends/public view on my timeline instead of all the 8 app tabs visible when Im logged in.
